In this version of the Pangaea Day Date Black and Red, the outer edge of the dial and the date and weekday rings in Bordeaux contrast with the jet black finish of the rest of the dial. The date and weekday rings are completely open, giving the dial both structure and depth. The centrally positioned single hand, elaborately blued by heat treatment, calmly rotates around the dial. A small red arrow at 12 o’clock points to the current date and the weekday.
The elegant, slender stainless steel case of the Pangaea Day Date is 40 mm in diameter, water-resistant up to 5 bar, and fitted with a domed sapphire glass over the dial. The movement can be easily viewed through the sixfold screwed glass exhibition back as it performs its high-precision task.
Inside the Pangaea Day Date ticks the Swiss automatic movement Sellita SW220, which has been specially modified for the single-hand watches from MeisterSinger. At midnight, the two rings that rotate in opposite directions align to form the next day’s date in the blink of an eye. The rotor supplies the automatic movement with a 38-hour power reserve.
Pangaea Day Date Black and Red - 40 mm
The Pangaea Day Date shows the time, the date, and the weekday at a glance – even though it only has a single hour hand. The date and weekday rings rotate openly and carefully balanced in the center of the dial. Each day at midnight they move one step further and group themselves to form the current date below the 12. The Pangaea Day Date has won several coveted awards for this unusual way of indicating the time and for its carefully coordinated typography. It has received the Red Dot Design Award, the GOOD Design Award, and the German Design Award.
